Hello, I am Madelyn
I turned 30 this past week 🙂 April 11 2024 🙂
This is 30… praise the Lord I’m 30! Some of years come and go and you don’t even notice… The 20s in some ways are hard to say goodbye to because I saw God do so much in the last 10 years. From three years in Nicaragua to time in South Africa, Australia, Mexico, and New Zealand. 4 Year’s back in California with 4 wild nephews. 🙂
I have had the immense privilege of meeting the majority of my core friends in these past 10 years. Some at the end of long bus rides in Nicaragua on the way to Mas Fuego worship events. Some on the escalator in South Africa. Others in the in-between of teams coming and going, and at the end of the world in New Zealand. What a joy it has been to meet so many of you in these last ten years; you have all marked me in profound ways, and showed me what it means to walk and live like Jesus. I have gotten to see many of my closest friends, get married, and have babies. Had the joy of watching my cousins become parents to some of my favorite kids! Watched my sister, get married to an amazing man. What a joy! 🙂 These ten years have also come with some hard goodbyes. I had to say “see you later” to all of my grandparents, and to some beautiful friends one day we will dance and worship Jesus together in eternity.
By far the best part of my 20s was getting to know Jesus more and be face to face with my beloved (Jesus). To get to know the heart of Jesus in a way I could only dream of. What a joy it is to fall in love with the one who created me, who knit me together in my mothers womb. I have learned about His sanctification and His grace. How to humble myself (still learning this one). I have seen that His word will never return void. Some books in the Bible have marked me in profound ways, like Esther’s obedience, Ruth’s trust for a God she didn’t grow up knowing, James and all the wisdom and correction he Carrie’s, Roman’s and the profound impact it has on our lives today… and so many more. I have been to deep oceans with Him and to the highest of heights. There is none like Him!
As I reflect on the past and look towards the future, I can’t help but welcome 30… Looking forward to another 10 years full of wild Jesus adventures. Hopeful to lay down my life for a Husband and children one day 🙂 I can’t wait to raise my own children for the sake of the gospel. Hoping to see more people meet Jesus and yield their life completely to Him. Hoping for more adventures, getting to see His face every day! Getting to know Him in a deeper way every day. I just love Him and He is so worthy of it all!
If I could give you any advice, that would be to say yes, to knowing Jesus. He loves you He made you, and He wants you to follow Him! Also 😉 Read that Bible! 🙂 Its a love letter from the bride groom Jesus to his bride the church. Let’s read and taste and see the goodness of God in this season 🙂
Excited for all that is to come 🙂 thank your for all who have been apart of these last few years and I am excited for another ten full of His plans, His promises, and His purpose.
